Dr. Dolutan also serves as Adjunct Faculty for the Doctor Physical Therapy Program of Nova Southeastern University in Clearwater/Tampa, FL. He has given multiple lectures, including presenting for Nova Southeastern University’s Lunch & Learn program, providing several talks as part of the AdventHealth Wesley Chapel Healthy Happening Series (including “It’s All In Your Head”, discussing mechanical vs non-mechanical HAs and migraines, “Back Pain Changing Your Plans?”, focusing on evidence-based diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain and “Stop Back Pain Before It Stops You”, dealing with the prevalence, socioeconomic impact and costs, treatment and prevention of lower back pain), and for McKenzie Institute conferences. Dr. Dolutan’s next international presentation will be at the 2025 Asian Confederation of Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapists Congress in Cebu, Philippines where he will discuss neck pain and back pain interventions using the MDT assessment approach. Dr. Dolutan has also utilized his clinical experience to offer prerequisite advice and strategies for those applying to doctoral programs in physical therapy.

Dr. Dolutan is a 1999 graduate of the College of Charleston with a BS in Biology. He earned his Master of Science in 2004 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Dolutan became credentialed in the McKenzie Method in 2008 and achieved Diploma status in 2011. He completed the Daemen College Fellowship Program in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2019, attaining another Masters degree, and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Dolutan was appointed to Teaching Faculty for The McKenzie Institute, USA in 2021. He successfully attained board certification as an Orthopaedic Certified Clinical Specialist in 2023 by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists.

Currently, Dr. Dolutan serves as clinic owner and operator of a private practice in Tampa, FL. In his down time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing beach volleyball, fishing and cooking. Jonathan has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2014.

Dr. Dolutan is in high demand for his specialized skill set and interest in evaluating patients with persisting pain despite previous treatments to determine the most appropriate and most efficient solution. He does this through using a highly reliable assessment process using cause and effect analysis to assess the source and nature of the symptoms.

Dr. Dolutan teaches professional continuing education courses on the use of the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) throughout the country to licensed healthcare providers, including physicians, physician assistants, chiropractors, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers, focusing on empowering patients to control their pain and return to their normal lives.
